Welcome to the world of Janey Dillis. Janey hasn’t left her house in 25 years.
No one has set foot inside her house in 20 years which up till now has been just the way she likes it. However what happens when she wakes one morning and finds herself in the middle of a snow storm with no power, no heat, no phone, no food?.
As her situation escalates, Janey is forced to question her way of life and deals with her predicament through her wild imagination. She is prone to fantastical flights of fantasy that reveal much of her inner self and the wider world that has caused her to become trapped.
“Thrifty I am but it’s time for a two bar treat. Click and wait. Wait for that burnt dust smell that precedes the orange glow heat. No comfort here. Try to throw some light on the subject. Click, click. Light stays off, light stays off. Not to worry. I’ve had darker days than this. Go to the window. Haven’t looked outside in years. Today I must. Just a twitch and son of a bitch it’s bright. Outside the world has frozen overnight.
A slight ripple starts in the centre of calm that is Janey Dillis and begins to radiate outwards as I become increasingly aware, the cupboards are bare. Time to open up the ‘ol window to the world and restock the homestead. But first…”
